STRATEGY OF THAI CONTRACTORS GO CONSPICUOUSLY TO ASEAN

STRATEGY OF THAI CONTRACTORS GO CONSPICUOUSLY TO ASEAN

ASEAN is accelerating investment in the infrastructure to robust itself to supports the transport links between the countries in the region.

This is a great way for a construction company in Thailand to get away from both the public and private markets in neighboring countries.

Mr.Mongkol Peerasaltikul, the senior vice president of Marketing of Navarat Development Co., Ltd said his company has the experience to get construction such road, bridge, power plants and other infrastructure in neighboring countries more than 10 years.
He had to get a job in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Mr.Mongkol said getting each job was combine both advantages and disadvantages differently. Such as an auction of some governments may have to accept financial risk, disbursement delay, which is likely to affect the operating costs of the company.

In contrast, if the you are only Sub-Contractor or received from agencies that support investment into the country's leading one another. It would help to have more financial stability.

However, the most important issues to consider Navarat Development Co., Ltd of the Joint Venture is the financial stability back into the project so that some public-sector projects, it may not submit a bid.

In the future, he wants the government to get involved to support many aspects to facilitate the private companies that are out to get more construction in neighboring countries. These data support local companies and regulations on investment and construction in each country.

The need to increase financial support. It is a major obstacle when going out to bid and abroad such;

If you are going to bid for the work in neighboring countries must have guarantees bid (Bid Bond) from financial institutions. But when asked by the bank in Thailand to take the time. Fees are approximately 1.0-1.5%, while other countries. Will charge less than 1%.

For a construction company that has not been experienced in neighboring countries, he suggests that it may try to work with an agency of Thailand such as NEDA for the firstly projects it's more assure than going risk to the neighbors by yourselves. As well as find local partners are also risks.

The company estimates that compared with other countries in ASEAN, Thailand is considered to have a high chance of getting a job in CLMV group countries. Since there is a great cost because we has earned the trust of neighbors, has also had a formidable competitor is China.
